Course details are below. For additional info on topics like packet pickup, bike racking, nutrition, prizes, directions, and more, visit our EVENT DETAILS page.
The swim course has a 1.2 mile outer loop, meaning it's two laps for the Full, one lap for the half, a slightly smaller single lap for the Intermediate, and a much smaller lap for the Sprint. Please be sure to enter through the designated chute on the shore in order to be counted into the swim start. Note the buoy color on the map for your designated race. Want to know if using a wetsuit is allowed? It depends on the water temperature on race morning, so we won't know for sure until then, but we've always been wetsuit-legal in the past. Here are two helpful links in the meantime:

DownloadThe bike course is where the slight 'extra' distance for the race comes from, making this a Steel Distance race. The ride will be spectacular, as you'll pass many horse buggies on rolling hills while cutting along both arms of Keuka Lake. The total distance of the loop is 29 miles, so riders will go four laps for the Full, two laps for the Half, and one for the Intermediate, with a nice downhill ride for the last few miles! The Sprint course is a bit different with a shorter out-and-back to Branchport. Note the elevation chart below and the high resolution map you can download from the button.

DownloadThe run course is very scenic but rather flat and simple. It's an out-and-back that runs almost entirely along the northwestern shore of Keuka Lake. From Indian Pines Park take a left off Old Pines Trail onto 54A, then veer left onto West Lake Road for just over 3.25 miles, take another brief left toward Keuka College, then come back. That means four laps for the Full, two laps for the Half, and one for the Intermediate. The Sprint turnaround will be earlier, at the 1.55 mile mark. For a high resolution map, download from the button below.

Note: Registering for Peasantman after August 1st decreases your chances of obtaining a complete pre-race packet or finisher's packet. Materials such as shirts and medals have already been ordered by that date. Race materials are first-come-first-served for anyone who registers after August 1.
Peasantman is a USAT sanctioned race, managed by certified USAT Race Director/Official Joe McMahon
The benefits of a USAT sanctioned race can be summed up in this paragraph from the USA Triathlon website:
"The term 'USA Triathlon sanctioned' indicates to the event organizer, participant athletes, host communities and others that race planning and preparation has met the requirements established by USA Triathlon. It signifies that the race director has completed a thorough review of the swim, bike and run courses, has evaluated and planned for medical, emergency, safety and volunteer support and will conduct the event according to the USA Triathlon Competitive Rules. Among the materials submitted for USA Triathlon review and approval are safety plans, course maps and event details. The process is online so it can be adjusted for changes and effectively integrated as a planning tool for race directors."
Use of headphones or cell phones are not allowed and will strictly enforced. Cell phones may be carried for safety reasons, but must be left off except in case of emergency. USAT sanctioned races are bound by USAT rules. For a complete list of USAT race rules, click here.
