The Peasantman Expo takes place the day before the event on the race site at Indian Pines Park. We will host two separate sessions to cover packet pickup, bike racking, and the all-important athlete’s meeting.
The Athlete's Meeting is very important, as race founder Joe McMahon will explain all of the course details and answer any questions you may have. Last minute course changes are always possible due to weather issues or construction. It's okay to come to the ‘other’ athlete's meeting if you have no other options, but please do your best to come to the right one so the Q&A session pertains more to your race.
*Bike racking on race morning is discouraged and is at your own risk if you have no other options. If you absolutely must rack your bike on race morning be sure to arrive extremely early, preferably before 6:00. The more people who arrive to rack their bikes on race morning, the less chance you'll be on time. Peasantman is not responsible for helping ensure you make your race in time if you rack on race morning.
How do special needs bags work? If you're new to triathlons, you'd use special needs bags to store your own personal stuff for the bike and run courses. We'll provide the actual bags, and you can supply your stuff. Or you can even supply the bags. The last aid station on the bike and the first aid station on the run double as special needs areas, so you'll want two special needs bags - one on each course.
With one special needs area on each course, this means you will pass it on each loop. With the run, however, you'll see it twice as many times because it is an out-and-back course. In other words... if you're doing the Half, you'll see the special needs station twice on the bike and four times on the run. Double that for the Full.
Aside from engraved trophies or plaques for the top male and female overall slots in the Half and Full, medals are awarded to all finishers of the Half Distances and longer. Finishers of the shorter races get slightly smaller medals. But there's something more important than medals and trophies. As a Peasant, you're out to earn the respect of the King. If you're a finisher of the Half Distance or longer, you will be knighted by the either the King or the Queen of the Finger Lakes, and receive a Certificate of Knighthood. For the shorter races you'll receive a Certificate of Deed to the Finger Lakes. And If you are the overall male or female winner of the Individual Full, Half, Intermediate, or Sprint triathlons, you win a FREE SLOT for the same distance the next year!
